Personal Information:
Captain Jim’s sea experience
started on Cape Cod in 1969. His first boat was an 18’ Lyman Islander with a 4
cylinder Gray Marine inboard. Homeport was West Falmouth, Mass. The next boat
was a wooden 24’ Luhrs with a 6 cylinder Gray Marine engine.
In the
winter of 1969/70 Jim joined the Power Squadron in
Falmouth, Mass., and over the
next several years took a sequence of boating courses and ended up teaching
navigation.
The next
series of boats ranged from a 28’ fishing boat, 32’ express cruiser, 38’
Motoryacht and finally his dream boat, WaterWitch III. WaterWitch III was
designed by Jim and built in
New Brunswick,
Canada,
and launched in May, 2003. In addition to normal captain services, Captain Jim
is also available to take up to six paying passengers by the day or half day
aboard WaterWitch III. Based in Maine, he will travel to your location and stay
as long as you want.
Captain Jim
is in excellent health, is a non-smoker and has spent the last 16 years cruising
Maine
and Canadian waters. He has cruised the entire east coast from
Cape
Breton to the Dry
Tortugas, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.
He currently
holds a 100 Ton U.S. Coast Guard Master’s License.
