Personal Information:

Captain Jim’s sea experience started on Cape Cod in 1969. His first boat was an 18’ Lyman Islander with a 4 cylinder Gray Marine inboard. Homeport was West Falmouth, Mass. The next boat was a wooden 24’ Luhrs with a 6 cylinder Gray Marine engine.

In the winter of 1969/70 Jim joined the Power Squadron in Falmouth, Mass., and over the next several years took a sequence of boating courses and ended up teaching navigation.

The next series of boats ranged from a 28’ fishing boat, 32’ express cruiser, 38’ Motoryacht and finally his dream boat, WaterWitch III. WaterWitch III was designed by Jim and built in New Brunswick, Canada, and launched in May, 2003. In addition to normal captain services, Captain Jim is also available to take up to six paying passengers by the day or half day aboard WaterWitch III. Based in Maine, he will travel to your location and stay as long as you want.

Captain Jim is in excellent health, is a non-smoker and has spent the last 16 years cruising Maine and Canadian waters. He has cruised the entire east coast from Cape Breton to the Dry Tortugas, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.

He currently holds a 100 Ton U.S. Coast Guard Master’s License.
