Maritime Experience
Over 25,000 sea miles since 1983 on US and Canadian Pacific inland and
near coastal waters. Active SAMS surveyor with extensive vessel
damage-insurance survey experience. Past member ABYC Hull and Deck
committee. Excellent mechanical and shipwright skills. Currently
owns (and restored) 1957 Ed Monk Sr. designed 30' (sedan) wooden motor
vessel along with other classic boats.
Former Trustee and General Manager of the Steamer Virginia V
Foundation, Seattle WA. This foundation managed and conducted a $6.4
million dollar restoration of the SS Virginia V. This one-of-a-kind
wooden vessel, a United States national historical landmark, is a 125
foot, eighty year old "mosquito Fleet" steamer and is presently the
oldest, continuously operating steam powered passenger vessel in the US.
